Ivan begun the business at the age of 24 and was regularly seen cycling around Gisleham with tools a toe. He quickly established a reputation for hard-work, honesty and loyalty to a growing local client base. Ivan retired from the business in 2004, handing over the running of Gilbert Builders to his son Richard and daughter Rachel.
The business has since grown to offer a complete turnkey building service; from conception through to completion, in all industry sectors.
We work with a range of customers and businesses from local councils and healthcare providers to estate agents and housing associations.
A party was held to celebrate 50 years in business with over 100 friends and family members joined Managing Director Richard Gilbert at his home to mark this significant milestone for the company.
Gilbert Builders can also offer start to finish solutions from initial concept through to completion, having strong working relationships with Architects, Planners & Local Authorities alike.
